Your Local Expert in Vancouver Heritage Lofts and Condos
Heritage lofts are unique spaces that require a completely different marketing approach. Experience, expertise and most of all passion for these unique spaces make all the difference in the world. Put your character space into the right hands.
I have a special affection for older buildings which were so wisely preserved- sometimes salvaged in the rapid expansion of Vancouver. Most were converted from warehouses and storage facilities into condos and lofts in the 1990's. A perfect mixture of soul and modern conversions for the sophisticated urban dwellers...
can your agent "sell" a heritage condo?
Yaletown heritage buildings are different to what an average North American is accustomed to. Vancouver has its own distinct style of green glass highrises and older looking buildings might not look as attractive at first sight. They probably offer less dramatic views and most don't offer underground parking for all tenants. All these factors might dissuade an average renter from pursuing a heritage loft rental. These factors however are compensated by overwhelming benefits:
Having lived in one of the most desirable heritage buildings in Yaletown- the Hamilton at 1178 Hamilton Street, I can't even express what an amazing experience and privilege is to have one of the units. One must start with privacy. Floors are completely sound proof due to the thickness of the floors. These buildings were designed to withstand incredible loads as warehouses and floors had to be of appropriate strength and thickness. Walls are made of brick and offer a terrific insulation from the elements but also from street noise and neighbors. Upper floors offer higher ceilings for an amazing amount of space and nearly all penthouses have their private roof top gardens.
The historic Yaletown district is located steps from the seawall , minutes from the sporting venues of BC Place and GM Place and sits right above the modern rapid transit station of Millennium Line with one easy stop to the Pacific Shopping Centre and a direct connection to the Vancouver Airport (about 25 minutes). For those passionate about excellent food, there is not better place in Vancouver with the most esteemed restaurants and bars located on every corner, in the character-filled spaces of old warehouses. The newest 20 million dollar conversion housing The Keg is truly spectacular.
